2019 Swimming Motivation

Welcome back gang, and I hope you’re ready for a quick motivational pow-wow, because we are five days into 2019 and I want to get you geared up for the year to come!

2019 Is A New Year

First off, let me thank all of you! If you haven’t heard, my new book, “Be A Badass Swimmer” was an Amazon KDP #1 best seller, and I couldn’t have done it without you. If you haven’t checked it out yet, you can find it on Amazon!

Now onto our quick reality check…

2018 was full of ups and downs. Wins and losses happen and they happen to everyone. Don’t let anyone’s apparent perfect mood fool you.

We all have our moments and we all have days when we just can’t get up out of bed to do anything.

I won’t lie to you. I was dragging my ass this morning and it was because I knew I had to get creating some content for all of you. My dedicated readers and viewers.

I had a hard time finding my motivation this morning. It could be one of a million different reasons.

Just a few days earlier too, I sat down and I laid out my 2019 goals. I wanted to gain 10 pounds of muscle, increase my savings account 20%, and I want to get over a thousand subscribers this year.

Those are big goals in my opinion. When I think about achieving them, I get super fired up.

But I’ll tell you what, having big goals sometimes isn’t enough.

The biggest problem I believe we all struggle with has to do with the little bit of physics we learned when we were sixteen years old.

Inertia

An object in motion tends to stay in motion. Or, if you believe Google, an object has the tendency to remain UNCHANGED.

My entire issue getting my shit together today was simply because I had allowed myself to remain where I was. In bed, comatose, doing nothing and watching Netflix.

How the hell can I expect to achieve any of my goals with that kind of crap in my life?

The answer: it won’t happen for me if I do that.

Big goals require big actions and if you take those actions, you’ll find yourself closer to the goal you set for yourself, even if you didn’t quite make it…

The big things I want you to take from me right now are:

  1. Your emotions betray you. They don’t want you to change or exert any extra effort. They DON’T want you to keep any of those resolutions you set for yourself. So, get logical. And think about whether those emotions are doing you any favors.
  2. You need to start taking action. And why not go big. Handle the big wins right now. Sign up for a year membership to the pool. Buy a new swim suit. Write down an action plan for how you’re going to see improvement in 2019. Do SOMETHING for God’s sake.

Don’t be one of 99% team. You and me are going to make 2019 the best year ever. We take a stand here right now and decide…

We are the 1%. And we achieve our goals!

Let’s get out there and dominate 2019…!

If you want help with anything and everything swimming, throw a comment in the section below and I’ll get out there and create some resources for you in the coming weeks.

We’ll see you next week team!
